It should be noted that Frank Millers original graphic novel was written well before 9/11 happened, and the movie is pretty much a straight off adaptation of the comic book.

The books do have the element of facism within them. He is also writing Holy Terror Batman in which batman fights Al Qaeda as they attack gotham city so that should be worrying. Anyway, it should probably be best judged as a comic book movie, that was based on an even older film rather than a historical allegorical epic.

However you can't really admire people (nor do I think the audience were supposed to) who throw their babies off a cliff just because of a couple of irregularities either.

I thought the movie was ok, but they really didn't need to include the rape scene if she was gonna cut the guy anyways.

Please do more brother sister film reviews!

Colin:

I knew it was based on his graphic novel, in fact the only real reason I went to see it its because I'm an avid Sin City fan. When I was discussing this with my brother after the film this was one of the main reasons I told him that his argument may not be well founded. Because it was an already (very pre 9/11) novel. However he was very avid about it and disagrees with me.. to each his own.
I regret to inform you however that this may very well be a one time only thing. My brother lives in Cuba and he's only visiting this week, and so we got to see a movie together. The only movies he can get his grasp on there start out from the 20's to the late 80's and then it stops. Plus I have a feeling he only reviews movies in which he has a strong critque for it.
SO ya'll stuck with me!
