L'Engle was my favourite author as a child; I loved that she didn't write down to kids. I started reading her books in 2nd grade, when the school library had a used book sale to replace the too-tattered copies they had. I bought Wind in the Door, a Wrinkle in Time, and A Swiftly Tilting Planet for a nickel apiece, and reread them time and time again.
