Random note on Exodus

You find interesting things reading big chunks of scripture. For example, the Israelites accused Moses of leading them into the desert to die three times (Exodus 14:11, 16:3, and 17:3) in the first three lunar months after leaving Egypt (Exodus 19:1). You bring up a good point... how could the Israelites NOT trust God inthe first place? They were being led by a pillar of fire by day and a pillar of smoke by night (or perhaps it was the other way around), i can't remember which. that's pretty awesome.

I think it is the other -- fire for light at night, smoke for shade by day. But at any rate, yeah, pretty ridiculous. Then again, I suppose the angels might tell us, how could we doubt God with the Holy Spirit in our hearts?
