There is ALWAYS a point in getting old film that has already been exposed developed. You may end up with nothing. Or you may end up with a cherished photo of a family member who died last year. You never know. When you take it in for development, pay the extra couple of bucks for the digital version on CD. Their scanner is higher resolution than yours, believe me.
There is less to be gained from using the old, undeveloped film. You'd be making a BIG gamble on pictures you don't actually currently have. That stuff I'd chuck, and use either new film or a digital camera for any pictures you haven't already taken.
