I spent the weekend away in Ottawa. Travelled with my sister and two friends to an SCA event and to see the Viking Exhibit at the Canadian Museum of History. Behind us is a reconstructed ship's sail.

Warmed up to -25C, was -30 during the night. Wood stove stoked, snuggling under duvet.

Government of Ontario could save some money by sending only one home care RN to see a new patient. Instead, they sent a "Rapid Response" RN complete with laptop and yours truly with a semi-smart phone and a sheaf of papers. Not home
Complaining of diarrhea but taking laxative every night. Afraid to stop in case of constipation. Can't make this up.
Call man to ask re need for visit at 10 am. He refuses. Wife calls at 3pm to tell me the opposite.

Pain and heart racing, dizzy. Not coping at all today.

I missed what I expect was a most interesting staff Xmas party last night. Seems one of the nurses donated some special gifts, vibrators! Flurry of general emails apologizing madly. You would think we were nuns, not nurses.

I've spent the last few days interpreting ignoring doctor's orders. If the orders had some connection with getting people better, I would have gladly followed them.
