of the love of older literature, that is. i'm right with you on that one, babe.

did you ever read (i forget what it's called), but the sherlock holmes story when moriarty dies? it was intended to be the end of the stories. when it was first published, the readers of the world were outraged and sir conan doyle was forced to come up with a story where moriarty wasn't reeeeeeeeeally dead (it just SEEMED like it) in order to write more stories. hehe. read "the speckled" band if you haven't already. it's one of my faves.

wass izzup? I thought milk would make you fat? Well you were never fat, so i guess it doesnt make a difference. Since when is barnes and noble liberal? Republicans must have a black list of "liberal businesses" somewhere ive never seen to further money only going into certain select pockets. I always thought barnes and noble was just a bookstore, im sure you could find some sean hannity and anne coulter crap if you looked for it. Neway, forget that. You can specialize in older literature being an english major. You could be a linguist or an anthropologist too if youre really into older stuff. What do you mean by older? Tolkien is kinda recent really, based on some old stuff tho. I like modern literature to be honest. I mean not nesecarily like new stuff but 20th century. I always thought joyce and stream of conciouness was awesome. But ya, older literature all the way. And yes, there is a creative writing major, my freind kaitlin is one. Well wow this was a long post, just sayin hey i guess, havent talked to ya in while, take care.

Barnes and Nobles and Borders generally draws the Liberals.. its true... even ask the people that work there... when the election was going on I used to wear my "JOhn Kerry is a liar" shirt to borders just to get into political conversations and when I was buying a book there once the liberal employee that was helping me was saying how surprised he was to see a conservative in there...

They go there to form their wacked out opinions on nature and such... and why its ok to kill babies... and then of course they have their reserved time for twisting the Constitution until it has a completely different meaning than what our founding fathers intended...

And then the vegan liberals go there to talk about what new animal friendly items have come out since animals seem to mean so much more ot them than God's children...

Ok I'm stopping.. ive been takin a chill pill from politics and writing this is stirring up my anger at Liberals again....

Perhaps its a regional thing, go to barnes and nobles here in alabama and you definately wont find anything you just described. Youll find "security moms" who think their cultured, just suburan america. Perhaps its a meeting place for the subculture, described in your terms, counterculture, seeing as how liberals are nature worshiping baby killers. But places like bookstores always seem to attract the artsy fartsy crowd and other so called intellectuals. So perhaps thats it. The Jacobins for instance, so called because they met in in the jacobin monastery i beleive, definatly have nothing to do with religion. Seeing as how they Robspierre worshiped reason and eventually advocated for the bloody French revolution. Perhaps barnes and nobles is kind of the same.
