I would have to say that Kenyans would probably agree with Canadian Robert's assessment of the situation. I had a dicussion with Mamud and Amanda one night about how really tough American women can be. I think a part of that is that we are not taught, have no patience for, and sometimes are insulted at the suggestion of taking care of our men. His point was that we are career driven to the extreme, at the cost of family and healthy relationships with our husbands. It's also no surprize that men in America are extremely insecure since we regularly challenge them in various ways and pull the carpet out from under their feet when it comes to knowing what their role is supposed to be. I mean think about it, in our demographic, if I, say, regularly coooked for my husband, or, say, put my career on hold for a few years to have kids, everyone would pitty me or something. But really, what's the big fucking deal? Nurturing and feminism don't have to be mutually exclusive

It's so sad to be growing up, now. Or maybe it's not, I don't know. Maybe I just have to let myself be whatever I change into, and not try to hang on to my childish ideas
