I saw the most amusing abuse of punctuation ever on my way to work yesterday. I often giggle at the signs outside the pub at the end of my road, proclaiming: Good "food" served daily. Obviously they intended to emphasise the word 'food', but didn't realise that putting inverted commas round it makes it seem like the stuff they're claiming is food
