This is set after In Arduis Fidelis but you don’t need to have read that one to understand it, you just need to know that Sherlock got shot and injured.
Lovely work! Really like how there's a progression to Sherlock's spiral downwards; it's not just, bang, total collapse, but more that he's trying so hard to deny what's happening until he can't, anymore. And John is just marvellous. Sometimes standing back is the hardest thing, but he knows there's got to be space.
Absolutely wonderful follow-up to In Arduis Fidelis. :D
Thank you so much, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this - it's my favourite of those I've written so far. :) I'm especially pleased you pointed out Sherlock's spiral down, rather than him just falling off a cliff. That's what it's like, so I'm glad that came across well.
And, of course, John knows all about it so does the right thing. :)
Thanks so much for reading and commenting, I really appreciate it!
A beautiful follow up. Anyone who's been through a trauma will feel the truth, although, yes, it would be so very difficult for someone like SH. John is, again, superbly drawn. Thank you.
