Dear writer,
Worry not. I'm a squeeling fangirl per se, I chose fandoms I'm easily going to be happy with, and I'm already ecstatic I'm going to get some fic! So worry over liking whatever it is you will be writing! *cheers*
Please take into account I'm a happy sort of person--extreme violence, character bashing, character death, non-con, necrophilia and so on don't agree with me. I do like and read many things, though: gen, het, slash, femslash, AUs, angst if it's pretty, fluff if it's not over-the-top... I'm fascinated with romantic fiction, so if there's UST (or you leave room for me to do as if there were), chances are I'll be happy. Other things that I LOVE (and I'd be so happy if you tried to do) are things happening as they would in RL, not as in films; in-character characters; and, as said, UST.
Live Free or Die Hard: I didn't see the room for slash when I first saw the movie, so when I happened upon John/Matt fics I went: OMG SLASH DIE HARD! Friends went: Wha? You can't do that. And I ended the discussion with: WELL I STARTED TO READ AND I STARTED TO BELIEVE! I love their dynamics, and I love both the characters, so even a non-slash fic will make me beam all day.
So, really, if John is John and Matt is Matt (and not a weird mature version of himself) and their relationship is balanced, you can do an AU in space or prehistoric Ethiopia for all I care.
Life on Mars UK: I didn't see the room for slash here, either, but it didn't catch me so off guard because I was already reading Die Hard slash. *grins* I actually still don't look for the slash when watching the series, but that's because I like their relationship better when it's fanon and there's UST like you couldn't believe it. If you do that, though, don't mess with Annie. I love Annie!
I'd love a Gene's POV while he thinks/watches/is with Sam. Just a small thing would do! If you want to do something more ambitious, you can kill off Hunts wife and see what happens. Or, if you aren't into slash, Annie can watch Sam instead. :D AUs can be great, if you wish, but what I'm really into is characters.
1-800-Where-R-U: Whatever you do, don't try a Robb POV unless it's going to be REAL good. I'm really interested in the possibilities re: other couples that appear in the show, like Michael/Ruth or Michael obsessing over the sun-tanning obsessed neighbour, or (this is possibly my fav) Douglas/Tara (careful of Dougs disease!). No kid-saving has to be in order, and anything half-resembling a plot will do, I think. I just would like to know how did a disastrous first date go, or how one came to think differently or the other, don't know. Just keep it real, and don't go overboard with the fluff! :D If fluff's not your thing, a ficlet about Jess and her brother will do very very nicely too.
Fuente Ovejuna: Seriously? I'm squeeing already just because this fandom exists, so chances are I'll love anything you do. It doesn't even have to be Frondoso/Laurencia. Just keep in mind I'm not into gratuitous violence and that, given the nature of the play, maybe you'll be better off not making it beliable from our modern POV, but from a 17th century fiction logic. Like, yes, Frondoso can be literally love-sick. Unless you AU! :D You can also mess with canon as much as you want, as long as you keep true to the character's, er, character. I'm getting all excited just thiking about the possibilities, so! :D Have fun! can't wait to meet someone who would write FO fics!
