Mmm I really liked the normality of this. How these scenes could slip so easily into canon. It was interesting to see Kat in the leadership role and not such a hothead herself, since we really didn't even get a glimpse of that in canon.

The scene with Tigh was interesting too. Don't forget about your baby Starbuck! Lol.

Looking forward to Lee and Kara's talk. ;)

I think Kat can be a hot-head but I think that she is also the kind of person who looks out for other people. She shows a lot of concern for her fellow pilots, and in Torn she was the one to try to mediate and go "it was a bitch on both sides."

I really liked writing the Tigh scene. Those two are an interesting combo. :)

Yeah... that talk might get a little bit derailed....hmn...

Oh Kara, so screwed up. I think you did a really great job of expressing how much weight Kara carries around. All the emotional strain and how it flips her inside out. I feel it when reading. It's one of your best writing qualities IMO.

The Tigh convo was very good. I love how the one person that always gives her shit is the one that brings truth out of her. It's a great dynamic.

The Kat stuff was fun too. I like how she flipped Starbuck's instruction right back on her. It's cool to see that push/pull with them.

I am really looking forward to the Lee/Kara talk and what will come out of it!

Awww, thank you so much :) I like to get visceral with emotion.

I figure if Tigh was the one to get her to admit she frakked Lee, he'd be the one to get her to admit that the baby is his. Nice little full circle there.

One of the things, going into this chapter, that I knew was that I wanted Kat to use Kara's bits from AoC on her... sort of show how Kara's fallen.

This story is so good! I think Kara's struggles after New Caprica were glossed over on the show, so I love reading about this time in fanfic, and you do a great job of illustrating how she can't seem to catch her balance (especially with the flashback depictions). It's also nice to see Adama have a clue. The addition of the baby makes this a fascinating scenario to me, and you are doing a fantastic job, can't wait for more!

Thank you! :) My feelings on Kara's psychological struggles as they were in canon got pushed under the rug... that she did sort of force herself to behave like she used to, but it was mostly a front. She never got to deal with what happened, which is pretty much why Maelstrom could happen.

Thanks! I really enjoyed writing the Tigh scene once I got past the inertia. I struggled to start because writing the "Kara meets the Bad Decision Dinosaur" scene made me sad.
