this is heartbreaking

Woke up to the news this morning that Namdaemun gate in Seoul has burned down. This is would be the Korean equivalent of losing the Forbidden City to the Chinese or the Statue of Liberty for Americans. So sad because so many of Korea's landmarks were destroyed during the Japanese occupation. I feel so sad for Korea today.

an old guy arsonist. if we have school shootings, korea has arson. they've had three major fires. this one, an old temple burned down, and a big fire in the subway where over 200 people died. hmmmm....sounds like a soc. thesis.
