I've had this journal for a little more than nine years. Back in 2000-2001, it used to be that I wrote substantial posts several times a week. As my life went through different transformations, the amount of time I spent here gradually dwindled. Huge editorial pet peeve: writers who pride themselves a little too ostentatiously on being "grammar Nazis" (another term I hate) but who...well, really can't write. Prose either riddled with cliches, or just...clunky. Basic junior high school usage mistakes (it's, or use of the nominative I as a direct object). There's a place for these people ( Read more... ) -

Dr. Tully Monster's chair called him last week when he was at Argonne to let him know that there was an official envelope in his office, and this past week he showed me its contents. new year's resolution
OK, so 2008 REALLY sucked, up until November 4.
Then things started to get better. And by the middle of December, things were vastly improved. And now, we're both pretty sure that things are going to be more than OK from here on out.
