peppermint gets me high

Took a break from this to make, of course, candy. Easy, messy, retardedly tasty candy. Photos and recipies under the cut.

This one I got from a friend last year. I'd done dipped pretzels alot but these are the best. (Ignore the fact that she also made us cricket-filled chocolates, eheh!)

Reese's Sticks
Chocolate ~ 3/4 bag of chips
Peanut butter ~ half a jar
Large stick pretzels ~ one bag
Sprinkles
Microwave or double boiler/mixing bowl/spatula/cookie sheet/wax paper/cold weather or freezer

Melt chocolate. Put wax paper on to cookie sheet. Dunk and twist pretzel stick into peanut butter jar. Dunk and drench stick in chocolate- for a thinner coating tap the stick on the bowl and turn it. Place coated sticks on to wax paper. Sprinkle on, er, sprinkles, shortly after. Put cookie sheet outside (if below freezing) for 10-20 minutes until set.

Place upside down (nonmessy handle-end up) in to a pretty glass to serve, as shown.

We've made this every year because it's too simple to resist.
Peppermint Bark
White Bark Coating or white chocolate ~ 3/4 bag or whatever
Peppermint candy, crushed ~ almost as much as the white bark
Chocolate ~ 1/4 bag of chips (it's the leftover I melted from the sticks- I are devious)

Put wax paper on to cookie sheet. Melt white bark (nuke on high 3 minutes, stir some). Mix in peppermint. Pour mix on to cookie sheet and spread evenly. Drizzle chocolate on top and spread evenly. Place outside (if below freezing, derr) until set, or a good half hour. Pull off wax paper and break. [that's the fun part, smash-smash-smash.]

Here is the nasty smear of mine cooling on the porch. Do NOT use saran wrap like I did. It, um, stuck in to a few of the crevices.

This is the holidays in a fucking nutshell, right there. Look at it, LOOK AT IT.

licking off chocolate from my elbow and hour later was just a bonus!
