In my English class, my teacher is giving us 20 minutes at the end of the block for silent reading. We pick a book, any book we want, from the library and read to our heart's content. I picked Anansi Boys, by Neil Gaiman

You could try anthologies of short stories, ones short enough that you can read them in 20 minutes+lunch.
The other thing I might try is some good nonfiction. I like reading popular science books, but they tend to be reasonably easy to put down. I would go for:
"The Language Instinct" by Steven Pinker if you like linguistics;
"QED" by Richard Feynman if you like physics;
"The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins or any of the Stephen Jay Gould collections, if you like biology;
"Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond, if you like history (actually all of his books are good);
"Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation" by Olivia Judson, if you like biology and feel like shocking your classmates (this one is worth reading for other reasons, too);
anything by Martin Gardner, if you like math. (He writes on recreational mathematics; his books are a lot more fun than your precalc textbook probably is.)
The convenient part about these is that you can probably find most of them in the public library.
