See, A.M. stands for Amplitude modulation, and F.M. stands for Frequency Modulation. When Marconi and Fessenden figured out how to send stuff through radio waves, they could only do so through playing with the amplitude of the signal. But since then, we've figured out how to use the frequency as well, and thats even how you're TV images are brought to you!
But now, the newest medium is XM, which is satellite radio. So basically, with satellite radio, if you want Lithuanian gangsta rap, you can tune into a station with Lithuanian gangsta rap.

Now as for why there's AM and PM in regards to time I haven't the faintest idea...we french just use 24 hours instead of 2 cycles of 12 (5:45Pm=17:45 for us)

I go to Ryerson! Yay!

PS. I didn't mean to condescend you in any way. Its just that I've had about 14 tests on that in the past 2 years.
