He knew something was wrong the moment her saw that look on her face. He still clutched the phone bearing her text message, chewed off the fingernail to his thumb and listened to her explanation. His smile crumbled.

"You... you're leaving?"

She could almost not bare to look up at him, hesitantly stepping forward and reaching up to hold the front of his shirt.

"I... I'm sorry Dewi but... This doesn't mean the... end alright? I could never... never just end this because I'll be... away."

She looks up again, tears still in her eyes as she pushes up on her toes and presses a desperate kiss to his lips.

Well, this kiss was - what's the word? Unexpected? Sudden? ...seven kinds of wonderful? Dewi fell into it, plummeted into it with arms tight about her waist. Certainly, stumbling up the stairs lip-locked without tripping down two flights.

Something in that kiss meant that she was truthful, and that this could last after being so far away.
