hannah! it's kate -- old lj acquaintance + wray's friend. i just this week got back on livejournal because i miss the amazing feedback lj people provide. there's nothing quite like it and it's sort of addictive, especially when you're going through rough and tumble times.

anyways, come have steak at our house some night! we three can put our kitty arms around each other.

I didn't comment at the time because I didn't really know what to say. But I just want you to know that I thought about it a lot, and that I hope you get your mojo back, pronto!

hey hannah! I wanted to see if you had any skincare advice for me. I ordered a sample kit of Evan Healy's blue line cause of your blog post and I like it, I want to love it, but I'm kinda brainless about how much of each thing to use. I tried to follow the directions pretty closely, no moisturizer at night, etc- and both times my skin is left feeling soft but a little tight and maybe a bit dry? I guess dryness causes that tight feeling. Anyway, here are the approx amounts I used of each thing: around 2 pumps from the sample size of cleanser, maybe a dime-sized bit of clay, 2 full spritzes of toner and dabbed about a nickel-sized amount of oil onto my fingers before rubbing it into my face. Then, this morning I did the same but with maybe a quarter-sized amount of moisturizer at the end ( ... )

the best advice i can give you is experiment until it fits! i use a quarter sized pump of the cleanser, two pumps of the toner, a nickel-sized amount of the oil and a light dab of the moisturizer in the morning. you may want to try a bit more of the oil at night and make sure you're washing your face in lukewarm water as hot water can cause dryness as well. the toner shouldn't be leaving you dry as it is of the moisturizing persuasion (i like to use it throughout the day too when my skin is feeling tight/i am feeling sleepy!) it also might help to apply the oil when the skin is still damp from the toner. i think i heard it somewhere that it takes about three weeks for your skin to adjust to new products (i may be making this up though - err) give it some time and hopefully it will have your skin singing!

thanks dude! I emailed their customer support and got a reply pretty quickly, which was awesome. They recommended using more oil and more toner, and leaving out the clay except maybe once a week. I bet it was the clay that did it! Everything has been working out now and I think I love it! I've never been able to really find a product that I like, but maybe finally I have? yay!
