I know this comment is really late and not many will likely see it, but I just stumbled on this and thought I'd respond:

I have to admit to being slightly disappointed with the characterization. Some people went "wingnut crazy," for sure, at SoG. The site, as a whole, did not...I was personally very critical of the very same thing you're critical of, and a tremendous discussion has resulted between the Christian and gay positions on sexuality that would not have otherwise happened had I not taken the risk of opening the conversation there.
