Stupid letter

So I have been working on revising, more like rewriting, my letter to the dean requesting that I be considered for the extended program.  I have it mostly done, but I am stuck...I know a reduced course load will help me, but I just don't know how.  I don't know what to say on how it will help me, I just know it will.  Rarr!

hey luv - i think that if you're trying to figure out a way to phrase the whole 'fewer classes will be better thing' i would say something along the lines of you feel that by taking fewer classes in the semester - you'll be able to apply yourself better and focus on the information instead of always feeling like you have to catch up. you don't feel as though your work would be the quality that is expected of you and that you're capable of if you're trying to keep on par with the expected course load.

anyway, have a good day!

Hey girl. Thanks so much for the ideas. I was thinking of adding something along those lines. It is good to hear someone on the outside has similar ideas.

From what I've seen, a lighter load will help you for several reasons:

1) You have extreme fatigue, which increases when you're stressed.
2) Stress seems to exacerbate your depression.
3) You are still working on stabilizing your medications, which cause unexpected side effects, such that you can't plan your schedule efficiently because you never know when you'll be able to function.
4) You need enough time in your schedule to work on recovery activities.

I don't know if you can actually say these types of things in this letter, but....
Anyway, good luck with it.

Hey there. Thank you for the ideas. Some of your suggestions I have used or am thinking of using. The Dean knows about the depression and whatnot, but not the entire committee. I hope he does keep some sort of confidentiality with that. Thanks again for the suggestions. I should go finish my letter and get it in the mail today.
