Stupid letter part 2

So, I finally got back to finishing the letter to the dean today.  I haven't added or changed much at all.  I just don't know how to say that the extended program would benefit me.  I have two reasons, but I feel I should have many more.  I also don't know how to end the letter.  I have the last paragraph, but then do I say.."Thank you for your

Well, I just ended it with "Thank you for your time." I really hope I didn't screw myself over in any way.
