i think i am either hopelessly addicted to caffeine, extremely sleep-deprived or becoming strangely bipolar. If i don't drink coffee or tea for a few hours i get really tired. and when i get really tired i get in a really bad mood. but i don't know what is causing what. drinking more caffeine usually makes it better, but not always, so i am not ( Read more... )

yeah the only reason i managed to get this job in the first place is because i had previous library experience doing the exact same thing for pretty much the same amount you make, so i've been there man. try to find a unionized library is all i can say.

That's $18 Canadian right? So what is that, $10 in 'real' money? Muhahahaha...

You probably just have Seasonal Affective Disorder http://www.ncpamd.com/seasonal.htm

And finally I may have some thoughts on your MP3 player so hit me up next time you're online.

it's not SAD, i love the fall/winter months and their temperature- and daylight-related declines. and historically i have been happier in those times than in summer / springtimes, so if anything, the reverse would be true.

no internet at my house at the moment so i'm not online except if i bring my laptop to a boring lecture to kill time, so plz share your ideas here if you can.

also, the US dollar has been in steady decline for the past several years and now is only barely hanging on at $1.10-1.11 CDN. so in 'real' money i make ... 16.20-ish, still outlandish. but i pay rent, buy food and pay tuition all in CDN anyways so the difference between US and CDN money doesn't really matter anymore.

I'm always online durring the day...blah

Not sure what mp3 player you have but I had a 3rd generation 40gig Ipod and it died all of a sudden. Whenever I turned it on I would get the sad ipod or a file folder and then it would turn off. You could hear it clicking like the hard drive was constantly restarting so I just banged it really hard on my desk a couple of times and low and behold that worked! I still have all my music on it an everything. It still acts up every now and then but I just smack it around and it falls back in line. I hope that also works for you but maybe not. It's worth a try.

well my old one's battery capacity was dying, the songs would freeze all the time, i think the hard drive became corrupted and it actually will no longer even boot up, it freezes a few seconds in so i can't access the options to force-reformat it. it's pretty much a lost cause at this point, and it did its service adequately. now i just need a crappy thing i can put 1-2 hours' worth of songs on to burn some time at work.

You'll probably get pissed at even the suggestion - but are you eating? And are you eating food good for you? Stuff other than soup and mac&cheese and cereal? Cos that could explain the being tired and moodiness.

the answer is no of course not but i doubt that's the problem because i've been living off of soup and coffee for far longer than i've been weird and moody.

It could just finally be affecting you, especially if your body has finally used all of your fat.
