Since your post got deleted, I thought I'd respond to your comment here (I hope you don't mind):

You did mention they're computer speakers, and that shouldn't be a problem, even if the break is right at the jack. If the break is somewhere in the middle, just cut out the bad part and reconnect the two sides. If the break is at the jack, like so close that you've got no good wire sticking out of the jack, then what you might have to do is find a pair of headphones (either kicking around your house, or at a dollar store--a gold plug is better, but silver will do), and cut the jack off the headphones, with at least six inches of wire to spare on the end, and connect it the same way as you would if it was at the middle.
