The ride there was long. Started with breakfast at Scramblez Diner (yay!), an Eggs Benedict. Slept on the way there. Stopped at a random Italian restaurant for lunch and had leftover gnocchi for dinner.
French restaurant means more Eggs Benedict for breakfast next morning. I never get tired of that. Went to the bottom of a mountain, took a tram ride to the very top. Sudden change in elevation gave me a bad headache for the rest of the day. At least the pulled pork sandwich was good. Went shopping. Saw a store full of cute hats and shoes, everything for $16. Only bought pants (bummer). Dinner at an amazing French-Belgian restaurant. Had cream of broccoli soup and shrimp and sausage brochette. Carolers came into the restaurant. I always though carolers were endangered species, like the unicorn.
Waffles for breakfast. The maple syrup was the thick, way-too-sweet kind. I'm too used to Canadian. Went to Joshua Tree National Park. Lots of Joshua Trees. Duh. Cacti fields as far as the eye could see. Snow covered mountains that looked like cookies and cream ice cream. Rocks topped with snow. Made faces on rocks and Joshua Trees by sticking snowballs on them. :P Skies streaked with sunset colors. Took many pictures. Bought Christmas gifts. Went home. Wrote college essays.
Went to a cafe for breakfast and had bacon and eggs. Mmm. We went for a tour in a canyon where Native Americans used to live. It was pretty nice. Took pictures. There were a few really nice spots, like near a waterfall, even though the rest was like a typical desert. My brother swore the tour guide was Peyton and Eli Manning's brother (he looked and sounded like them and said he had 2 brothers). We ate lunch at a grill and I had a BBQ pork sandwich that wasn't bad. We bought a bunch of nice chocolates and a slab of espresso fudge at the chocolate shop next door. Walked around a bit, went home, and took a nap.
Did nothing much all day. Slept in. Read a lot. Watched TV. Bought Christmas gifts. Packed up stuff. Had a pork sandwich.
Woke up, finished packing, and left. Ate at the same Italian place with gnocchi from the trip here. Ate lots of hot cheetoes. Finally got home and planned on buying last-minute gifts (me for my brother and my brother for me). Went to Fry's which was closed. Spent the evening with my baby cousin Rhea and her parents. Rhea can finally pronounce my name clearly! Before, it was like "Shishishi" xD
Sooo for Santa Clause Day. Heroes Season 2 on Blu-Ray and The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray. Awesome. But I can't take em with me to college, cuz the only Blu-Ray player is my brother's PS3. Also, a Flight of the Concords CD. Yesss! :D And a bunch of vegan, scented soaps, that all smell and look pretty. Almost too pretty to use.
The Dark Knight comes with a segment on the psychology behind the characters in the movie, with a real psychotherapist and all. Sounds interesting. Also, we got an HDMI cable for my brother's PS3. HDMI + 46-inch TV (gift for dad) + Blu-ray = I can see PORES O.O
Today the fam went out to eat with the family across the street. Can't believe I haven't seen them in so long. Their son is already 9? Yeesh! They're all musical geniuses (genii?) and last time I saw the son, he was starting cello. Now, he's awesome at it. God how time flies, eh?
