I took the kids out this afternoon. We went to the park and walked around. Well, B.B. did his little skipping thing while I held Daikon. Eh, those kids are too cute. There is something special about Mom. I'm glad you're finally seeing it. It took me a bit too. She comes across as kinda wishy-washy, but then you see that under her whole little Suzy Homemaker act there is a person of incredible inner strength.

But you know what? Having heard about her mother, I really think she gets that strength from you. You may not have had the chance to raise her or influence her growing up, but through your blood, you gave her an inner strength.

I know I'm not related to either of you by blood, but I hope that by knowing both of you, I'll get some of that myself.

Hey kid, I shouldn't take any credit for how your mom turned out. Blood is blood, but a person isn't made on that alone. If anything, my influence in your mom's life taught her how to survive. I messed up Kia's mom pretty bad and in turn gave Kia a harsh life. Your mother survived it and found her own strength in herself.

I think you've got that strength already F.B. You've already proven yourself strong of heart just like your mother.

I-I'm glad you think I'm special. I just see this as something that has to be done. I couldn't abandon her when she needed us the most. To do that would prove that she was right, we weren't very good friends. We were just giving lip service to the word.
