The stage: a courtroom, with an imposing chalk-doodle on a tree serving as the PRIME ADJUDICATOR. Terezi is the prosecution and executioner, as emphasized by nooses hanging from the surrounding trees.

She stops and watches the execution of Madame de Applesnuggle in silence.]

Rei reaches into her pocket and takes out a pair of glasses. She puts them on.

Okay, now she's ready.]

Countess von Blueberry! We must investigate the scene of the crime! Come with me! Quickly!

[ Without waiting, Terezi will dash off to some bushes, uncovering a decapitated Scalemate. ]

[It's not everyday your laps around the mansion take you through a mock courtroom.

Akihiko stops to catch his breath and wipe his brow, curiously glancing at the troll and the arrangement of dragon plush.]

[ Oh, man. You've arrived just in time for the action. Terezi and a particularly nasty-looking blue Scalemate are rolling about the ground, engaged in mortal combat.

There's also some shouting about pirate ships being on fire, too. It's pretty incoherent.

At some point, Terezi gains the upperhand and tears one of the dragon's eyes out with her teeth. The dragon, like all rationale beings, "decides" to abscond the fuck out of this situation.

Which means Terezi is throwing it. At Akihiko. It'll make a little SQUEAK on contact. ]

SHE MUST BE STOPPED! GET HER!

[The doll hits him square in the chest, and he catches it with both arms while dropping his towel to the ground. Poor little one-eyed plush.

Akihiko doesn't realize this toy is the 'her' he's supposed to be after, and looks around the gardens.]

Uh...

[ Terezi struggles to her feet, taking a brief moment to brush dust off her pants before approaching. ]

That woman you're holding is the dreaded Marquise Mindfang's second in command. It's time she pays for her crimes.

[ She snatches the plush from Akihiko's arms. ]

You have to come with me, also. You're needed as a witness.

[Brennan was taking a walk through the gardens right at sunset to enjoy the newly blooming flowers in the orange cast.

She rounds a hedge, and stumbles upon one of the trolls she's yet to meet. The young troll has numerous toys set in an arrangement that, to Brennan, resembles a courtroom.

She pauses to listen to the troll girl's speech, and finds that she is staging mock trials of a number of stuffed dragonlike creatures. The most recent, apparently named "Madame de Applesnuggle", has been sentenced to death for bribery and corruption.

She chuckles.]

Isn't the death penalty rather harsh for bribery?

Culling is the punishment for all crimes.

[ She says this as she beats the corpse of Applesnuggle with her cane. Gotta make sure she's dead, you know. ]

Are you here for the next trial?

All crimes? Even, like, parking violations?

[Every troll Brennan meets seems to be at least a little stranger than the last...]

I... I guess I could be here for the next trial. [Whatever that means...]

Especially parking violations.

[ She uses her cane to tap, tap, tap her way over, shoving Scalemates out of the way. A proper legislacerator can't trip in the middle of the court room! That's just silly! ]

Now, Madame, if you'll follow me to the witness stand.

[ Armgrab. You are not getting out of this. ]

[ she says as she hangs the latest dragon. ]

[Miguel's not usually on this side of things. That is, the side of the law. Not that he hasn't played the part before.

He paces over to a green monster toy, nose in the air.] And what did this lowlife do? Theft? Murder?
