A Russian, an Irishman, and an English expatriate walk into a  club ...Only Moriarty  and Moran knew the true names of the three special guests that would be joining the larger party with them. He'd introduce Lucy to them as they came up on their own initiative. For now, it would be better if they slipped inside the Club and made their way without ( Read more... )

Lucy was pleased by the kinds of looks she was getting as they entered the room, the awed gaping from the men and the bitter, jealous scowls of the women. She'd certainly missed this kind of attention. Not that anyone would know, of course, she held herself with confidence but not a hint of arrogance, all smiles and friendly nods. There was a face or two she thought she recognised, but she could have been mistaken - one fat balding Englishman looked very much like any other fat balding Englishman after all.
She leant against the bar, exuding grace and elegance, in control of every inch of her body, incredibly aware of how she was holding herself.
"Thank you, darling," she purred as she was given her drink, and she sipped it carefully, eyes subtly looking about the room and taking in as much detail as possible.

"You're welcome Lucy. Enjoy." Moriarty sipped at his lemon drop and draped an arm around her waist possessively. He thought it amusing, the indignant looks from other women in the club and the sidelong appraisals from other men in regards to Lucy. The other looks from the men, directed solely for him, were also one of small surprise and not just a little discomfort. That pleased him more than amused.

He leaned over to Moran for a quick word. "Moran, make sure one of the lovely unattached ladies here make it to Alfred Whitmore's side before the auction after dinner. Seems he decided to go solo tonight. Preferably one with common sense if that is even possible."

Lucy leant closer to Jim, smiling in a way that would suggest to observers that they were discussing some mundane subject or other.
"Would you like me to mingle, darling, or would you prefer I stay at your side?"
