From the Nexus to Ashu's Nexus apartment, they had PINpointed. Ashu still holding onto Proto's hand as she did a quick look around, noting the silver-haired boy peeking over the couch before pretty much dragging Proto to the spare bedroom

"For you, or for me?" Proto crossed his arms and leaned against the bedroom wall. Mixed signals nothing; if there was one good thing being dead did for him, it was to help him completely get over Ashu.

Ashu sat on a box then. "Either is good, really," she said, not really looking at Proto at the moment. Being dead may have been good for Proto, but for Ashu it had been being away for what had been, for her, three years that helped.

"Let's hear yours," Proto said, after a moment. "It's probably better than mine."

"Well, had some health stuff done, got LOL'd along with Bass, then once that wore off I went 'verse hopping," Ashu said, being vague on purpose. "Was three years for me, lots of stuff happened."

[betterthanhim]

Proto grew thin-lipped. "Obviously not."

Ashu just prompty punched Cal in the shoulder, which got her a dirty look. "S'not important."

[betterthanhim]

"Why not?" Proto said tightly.

[turnabout_girl]

"Because it--" Cal piped up then. "She feels bad cause we didn't stick around to make sure he was okay, that's w--ow!"

Ashu really didn't mind hitting Cal right now.

[betterthanhim]

"Sure." He looked at her. "It's not personal, Ash. Instinct."

[turnabout_girl]

"Like after the November thing, right?" She had an idea of the answer to it, but it doesn't hurt to ask. "I understand."

"I was blind," he said simply.

"You told me that already."
