Basically, Bolt started going down around the time that they first decided to appeal to the 13-16 crowd exclusively, and started kicking off and picking on a lot of longtimers (Jess has a primo story about that one). A great many of us got sick and tired of the bullshit and drama and migrated to LJ land.
At some point in the past eighteen months or so, the executive idiots at bolt decided that they needed to become a youtube clone, and shunted bolt over and turned what was the original bolt into bolt2. Of course, it was the dumbest idea ever, and they didn't do things quite right because they ended up in a large quantity of legal hot water. bolt2 got shut down in april, and youtubebolt got shut down by a cease and desist order at some point in August.
By the way, what was your s/n on bolt? I was CaptainObviousA, if that rings a bell.
