Yeah, they'll take a potential torsion seriously. If only because it's about the only thing that can physically go wrong with a male's reproductive tract, and is really easy to fix surgically (as opposed to the seemingly thousands of things that can go wrong with a female's, some of which they can't even diagnose properly, let alone fix).
