* I ended up being 4'11" * I actually am pretty lucky as far as the "side effects" go ... I have "horse-show kidneys" (my kidneys are fused together), and of course the not able to have children thing, but besides that, nothing. * I have to be carefull or I get kidney infections, but otherwise I'm pretty healthy. * I've always felt very "different" because of my Turner's ... I'm wondering if you guys have felt that way too ...
I'm also 4'11. I have one horseshoe-shaped kidney, and have been diagnosed (only as a precaution, because they can't ever be 100% sure) as having a bicuspid aortic valve.
I was diagnosed at birth, and began taking the shots at 5. I did the shots for 11 years, and then was put on birth control (for the hormones, of course) at 15. Currently, I'm still taking the birth control (although the birth control that I'm taking has changed a few times), and I'm a 19 year-old marine biolgy major enjoying my second year at college. Also, I live in California.
My name is Elizabeth (if you couldn't tell from my username hahahaha).I was diagnosed at birth. I took growth hormone until I was 13. Now I am on birth control. I am 4'11. I am 18 and I live in Alabama. I will be starting college in the fall to become a nurse(probably in endocrinology).
Sorry I didn't reply earlier but I get that many community posts on my friends page I miss some. I was diagnosed at 16 and was put on ethinyloestradiol and growth hormone virtually right away. I was on growth hormone for just under 2 years, for 6 days a week and I've managed ot get to 5 feet tall. About 9 months after I came off GH I was able to progress to the combined pill which I'm still on at the moment. No major health problems have cropped up but I do tend to be suceptable to migraines on my pill-free week.
I'm actually taking part in a study through Edinburgh University as to what the best HRT for women in our position is. I've been monitored on the HRT I'm on since last August. In August this year I come off HRT for 2 months for a 'washout period' and then go on to try using an oestrogen patch and progesterone pill with higher than usual dosages to see if that keeps me in better health. They're monitoring my heart, bone density, womb lining and blood pressure when Igo for visits. It's all very thorough.

My name is Lacy. I was diagnosed when I was 16. I was about 4'10 at that time. I took growth hormone shots for about 6 months and grew to 5 ft. I eventually stopped the shots because I absolutely hated them, so who knows if I could have gotten taller. I've been told I could take birth control as well, but havent looked into that much. As far as side effects, when I was diagnosed they did a bunch of tests on my kidneys and my heart and found nothing, so im very fortunate in that respect :)
