Hey Conrad, did you just feel that?

It's a lot more fun when you're not in one of the tallest buildings in downtown San Diego.

Yeah, it was only about 30 miles from me. Shook the house real good, pissed off the cat. Glad I wasn't in the office in L.A. since apparently the building has just. kept. swaying.

our building only swayed for a minute, but Aaron and I considered jetting. A half day would have been nice.

whenever you use "they" as a possessive, I lose it for like 5 minutes straight

All of us from the east coast in my department ran around hi-fiving each other since this is the first earthquake that hasn't happened while we were all asleep. (and yeah, the LA Times building is in downtown LA, shaky. whoa.)

FUN!

No really, it was pretty cool since nothing broke. All the drawers in my desk flew open and all the weird promo toys on my cube lept to the floor. HOORAY EARTH.

I wasn't having it. Seriously, I was so freaked out for those few moments that I gave myself a headache. I probably would have loved it if I hadn't been on the 10th floor of a skyscraper. Maybe next time, I can pop outside real quick and slide around on the sidewalk.

The constant earthquakes were actually one of my favorite things about Japan.

The first earthquake I ever experianced was in Japan after I was only there for a week. The power lines were bouncing everywhere, shit was shaking off the shelves, popcorn texture was falling off the ceiling, and it was AWESOME. I was all, "This is awesome, we're all going to die and I'm loving it! Can you feel that? It's HUGE! Is Godzilla here? Are all the buildings going to fall down now?"

The Japanese dude I was hanging out said, "What shaking?".

I could never tell if we were having mini-earthquakes or if it was just the train by our house, but those were always okay. being close to the ground when it happens is sweet, cause there's always the possibility that it could crack open and swallow your enemies whole.

It's our turn, here in the Bay Area! Come on, let's get it over with! I didn't buy earthquake insurance for nothing, you know!
