i don't get why everyone had parties last night instead of on the actual holiday. then again i don't understand why people have parties ever.

You catch some pretty fantastic lighting. Maybe it's super easy for normal people, or you're super not-normal, and I just suck, but I can never really get it looking like your first shot there, all half-black and fucking awesome.

I was blessed with low light and a 50 mm lens. Cheapest lens you can buy, and all the bokeh you could ever hope for.
