Does my TV have to be gay too?

So I have been reading through some livejournals and I have to say I'm kind of astounded by how much people seem to like Bravo's new line up of gay TV shows. Maybe I have been watching too many episodes of "Daria" (since that is the only show I'm really watching these days) or something but I feel like I need to rant

Queer Eye creates a presence of gay community within the mainstream audience; it is a continuation of what Ellen began and Will&Grace continued. Regardless of the images and stereotypes these shows may communicate, they will introduce relatively sheltered citizens to new personalities.

I'm excited because it represents a first in 2000 years of western throught - an open celebration of alternative sexuality. And its hilarious! ...but to each his own...
