Veronica Mars
I'm pleased with where she is right now. It looks like her chances are really good for getting on the Council again, and she loves being on the Council. Her situation with Jim and Pam is really awkward right now, though, because she does like Pam and she misses her, but any time she talks to her, she's reminded that Pam doesn't remember anything about her, and that's not something Veronica can deal with well. For one thing, Veronica Mars is the center of her own universe. For another, it's a constant reminder that Pam left the first time, so all Veronica gets out of it is that she'll leave again. So there's this whole internal conflict over wanting her back and wanting to keep her away, which she refuses to acknowledge out loud, and the result is a strain on her friendship with Jim, because she's utterly incapable of actually asking for help or bending in any way. Next week, she's going out toward dinosaur territory to show Mathias around, and she's taken a liking to him, which is nice, as she doesn't seem to get all that many new people in her life very easily. She liked Yorick, too; his sense of humor seems pretty similar to hers. Oh, and she's also going to spar with Shep while Arya watches her pupils, and it's going to be AWESOME.
NDPD: Totally undecided.
Opposite plot: Probably. I had a lot of fun with Tea Parties and Sunshine Veronica last time, so I might go there again.
Genderswitch: No.

Eden McCain
Nothing much is going on with Eden lately. It's been a pretty quiet month. She'll be helping Gideon with his movie once that comes together, but that won't be until next year. In the meanwhile, she's taking it pretty easy, doing a lot of reading and spending time with her friends. I've been making some effort to get her out and meet new people, and she likes the ones she's met, particularly Grigg and Harriet. Tony, too, actually, which is kind of hilarious to me. She's single again, but in no rush to change that situation. I don't have anything planned for her right now, but something's bound to crop up.
NDPD: Undecided.
Opposite plot: No.
Genderswitch: Probably, if I can find a PB.

Meredith Grey
Had a busy month, for her. She found out her clinical research trial back home went well, but that Derek took all the credit, so she's simultaneously annoyed and pleased by the information. At the same time, she received a box of her mother's old journals as her item. When she first got it, it was kind of a novelty, but as she has time to actually read it, it's going to have a few different effects: first, she'll realize that her mother was actually kind of cool and she'll be sorry they didn't know each other well; second, she's going to get one of those good old surges of inadequacy Ellis Grey was so good at inflicting; third, she's gonna miss medicine like crazy. The journals are like 90% medical, if not more, and Meredith still sees herself very much as a surgeon. In addition to that, she's started dating Sam Seaborn, which is awesome, but will also eventually draw out her many, many issues regarding men, abandonment, relationships, trust, etc. - sorry, Sam. She's also been asked to be Ellie Bartowski's maid of honor, which is so sweet, and I love their friendship. I'd like to get her out and meeting more people, but it's really not in Meredith's nature to be super social.
NDPD: I don't know - a minibar?
Opposite plot: No.
Genderswitch: Yesssss. I just have to pick a PB for her. Suggestions?

Serena van der Woodsen
Busy as she is, this is actually a lull for Serena. She and Dan finally had a fight, but I think they're still due for a bigger blow up, seeing as how she cut that one off and then went to apologize a week later. They were both wrong this time and they both apologized, but I think they need to fight it out a little more instead of just pretending it's all okay. They're still trying to be friends, which is always interesting, and pretty much doomed, since the time for the big dramatic reveal of Dan sleeping with Blair is due in a couple weeks. Serena's probably going to wind up avoiding both of them for a while. She's bound to forgive Blair sooner rather than later, but there's going to be a period where she probably just won't talk to her. That's going to cause a lot of awkwardness, since she'll probably be upset with most of her people from home, aside from Eric, over something that doesn't generally sound good. How can she possibly explain it to anyone else without sounding jealous? And she can't fight Blair without being a hypocrite. Of course, the surprising thing - and I say this now, and playing it out may prove I'm wrong - but the thing right now is, she actually really isn't jealous. I mean, a touch, yeah, but it's not really about Dan at all, so that's nice. Really, all she ever worries about are boys and Blair.

Anyway, aside from that, she's doing her usual thing, running around, getting to know people, idly considering some kind of Christmas party (which will probably get thrown over for the NYE thing in the end). She came thiiiisclose to talking to Beat about her past, but turned right around. That thread's not over so she might do yet another about face - I can't always tell with her - but that's... something. I'm not sure what yet, but that the impulse was there is new (her trust issues, while far less marked than in Meredith and Veronica, are still very much there, so whoo, trust?). My goal with her in the coming month is to a) get her through the drama with a couple friendships still intact (even though this time she actually didn't do anything?) and b) play her less. I have other pups. I should try remembering that.
NDPD: A closet of couture.
Opposite plot: Yes? I want to. I have to give some thought, though, to just who an Opposite!Serena would be, because she's already done a 180 in the last year, but that doesn't mean Old Serena is opposite!Serena. She's still a part of who S is, she's just the part S doesn't let out. So does Old Bad Girl Serena count or would S basically become Blair?
Genderswitch: No.

Ryan Atwood
I've been falling down hard when it comes to Ryan. I need to break out the DVDs and do a rewatch, because I constantly feel off with him - not by a whole lot, necessarily, but not quite there either, like I've got the right notes but I'm not playing the whole song yet. It's disconcerting, and the result is me being less inclined to play him, when getting him out there is probably the only way to really learn him. I need to play him interacting with the other O.C. kids more, since I know that he's got to be spending plenty of time with Seth and Summer, at least, and worrying about Marissa. I think another part of the issue is that he's actually fairly content right now, and that does tend to be harder to play. I think an item might be in order soon to shake him up, and it would be nice to maybe do something with his interest in architecture, though I don't know what.
NDPD: I don't know yet.
Opposite plot: No.
Genderswitch: Maybe?

Sarah Walker
Just 'broke up' with Chuck. While she's sure that's for the best, because she really needs to distance herself from the cover, it really does sting, because she does love him. She just can't tell him that. It's frustrating for me, but it's also sort of satisfying, because it feels so in character. I'm really having such a blast playing her, and this next month should see me getting her out more so she can go meet other people. I've also been meeting to do up a we background sheet to put on her wiki, so I can keep straight what she's telling people as her cover, since she's got to have one story and stick to it. She might get tempted, a few months down to line, to pull something like Arya's doing with Rosalind and create an alter ego of her own, just to keep her hand in at playing different people again. As much as she wants normalcy and stability and Chuck, there's a part of her that's always going to be restless and wanting more. She's been doing it her whole life, and that's as much a reason for her to want something different as it is the reason she'll have trouble ever actually settling. I love playing her so much, guys.
NDPD: Still up in the air.
Opposite plot: I wish. I can't, though. Opposite!Sarah wouldn't so much tell the truth as she'd tell it compulsively, and that would compromise her too much.
Genderswitch: I don't think so. Maybe.

The Future
Next, with her app half done already, is Elle Bishop from Heroes. I've been wanting to app her almost since her first appearance in season two, but now I think I finally have sufficient canon. I also have a decent idea of how to blend all that contradictory canon and run with it, and I'm really quite excited about her for Q1.
