It wasn't that Serena didn't want things to be okay with her and Blair. She definitely didn't want to leave it all in the air with Christmas coming, but she still couldn't really bring herself to go to the room and find Blair. "That's new," Lyla peeked over Serena's shoulder, checking out the pile of supplies in the box. "I guess this place wants us to take up Christmas craft time."

It had to have been a long week for Serena, and while she and Lyla weren't exactly the best of friends, Lyla knew that sometimes it was good to just have people around. People who'd smile and pretend like nothing was up if that was what she needed. "If we make popcorn, we can make paper chains and popcorn chains. Of course, we always ate more of the popcorn then made it onto the tree."

Serena glanced back at Lyla, smiling as she stood up a little straighter. "That'd be so much fun," she said, then wrinkled up her nose, a touch sheepish. "I don't actually know how to do either." She was willing to learn, though, by the look of her. Frankly, the idea of a little time with a friend who wasn't part of all that had happened came as a relief.

"You're kidding me," she could hardly believe that. Only, knowing Chuck and Blair, Lyla thought that it wasn't too far outside the realm of possibility. "Then you have to learn. Just, be prepared to be covered with glitter for the next week." She craned her neck to see a bit better into the box. "The only thing we need is popcorn and something hot to drink. We can sit in front of the fire."

She laughed, thoughts turning briefly to those books Karen had been reading about sparkling vampires, and nodded. "I think that's a price I'm prepared to pay," she said, grinning. "Come on, there's popcorn in the kitchen. Apple cider, too, I think." It would give her something to do, something new to learn, and right then, it seemed like her most appealing option.
