I didn't bother with paper, I just baked in the tray after having sprayed a serious amount of PAM on it!! LOL

I do cookies and stuff all the time on parchment paper, but don't usually line my 9x13. Some of the things I've tried that said to...didn't turn out super-great, so I figured it couldn't hurt. LOL

I should have used paper, cause trying to get the blondies out of the tray was a right pain, and the top was so sticky it stuck to the counter!
