In Nick's post, if you didn't read it, he explained that Julia's laptop survived the crash. It was in sleep mode. On the screen was the last thing she ever wrote. I appreciate your perspective. I'm not ignorant to the negative side of things, as much as I wish I were. My fairly short life thusfar has had many periods of hardship, that I won't elaborate on, only because for every 'sob story' of mine, there's someone out there who's had it ten or a hundred times worse. Well, that, and because I've found that putting up with the bad times pays off. My life now is good; I'm thankful every day for things, both tangible and not that I now have. Since the beginning of this 'good period' in my life, have bad things still happened? Sure they have; this most recent loss of a very special friend is a punctuation mark to that. Still, the good makes it somehow easier to weather the most adverse of situations. I was an idealist once, and I became embroiled and embittered in the day-to-day of life. My friend, she was an idealist too, but she held on to it. Held it up before the light. She was the sort of idealist that actually got things done. She didn't just talk about a better world.
