First time to the Azzurrini's game

Aug 11, 2008 16:00

I went to Qinghuangdao and watched the Azzurrini's match against South Korea last night.  It was a fantastic game and an incredible experience.  There're quite a few Chinese Azzurri fans there.  But we're sadly out numbered by the Koreans.  Damn, they were loud!  When the score became 2:0, they were finally quieter, and when its 3:0, they started ( Read more... )

Eeee! You lucky thing, Nan, it sounds like you had a wonderful time. When you go on Wednesday, if you do take photos, would you mind sharing them at ahh_serie_a? There are a fair few people there following the Azzurrini, they would love to read about your experiences.

Sure! Altho I dont know if the atomsphere in the stadium will be the same, since 1) Italy has already advanced, and 2) the Azzurri fans had bitter memories about Korea from the WC 2002, but nothing against Cameroon. But I'll bring my camera and try to capture a few shots of the boys.

OMG! OMG! That's so awesome!! I wish I can see Azzurrini live. How's the ppl reaction to this squad? Do the boys surprise them? or they expect the babies to kick ass anyway :P

I agree with Ruby that, if you don't mind, you can share your Azzurrini first hand experience at ASA :)

Haha, everyone expect Italy to do well because they've got a strong squad. To be honest, I was a little worried at the first 10 minutes coz the boys seemed relaxed while Koreans were running all over the place. But then the Azzurrini really demonstrated their skills and most people were very impressed with Rossi's performance. Some people who dont know him were asking, "who's Italy's No. 11? He's good!" oh and several Russian women sitting near us were chanting "Italy" in Chinese. I found it very cute altho I dont know if they were really Azzurri fans or they just felt bad that the Azzurri fans were out numbered by the Koreans.

That is FANTASTIC! It must have been quite intimidating to play in front of such a large Korean fanbase [and from what I've seen of them in the last few WC's, they are a force] and in a country outside of Europe, but they pulled through.

Whenever we saw somebody wearing the blue shirt, we wave at each other with pure joy.

I'm drawing hearts around you guys. Thank you for sharing the experience, but you better take a few pictures next time missy. We'll be expecting it. :P
