I love how manipulative Elena can be. She's fucking ruthless at times, and it's glorious because everyone always underestimates her. And then she fucks them up and I cheer. (while the fandom boos and hisses at her because they suck)
She’s Elena Fucking Gilbert: Morally Dubious Warrior Princess, and I fucking love her.
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!
When she’s pushed past her breaking point, where she’s too numb to even feel anything, she wakes up, covers up her bite marks, and starts learning how to kill vampires. THIS!!!.... A lotta times I/we/and basically everybody tends to sit with a bucket of icecream, or quotes, or an emotional story or anything with "feels" when we are under the weather (emotionally, physically or both)... and the numbness that surrounds us, like it happens with her (although we are blessed that the love/s of our lives aren't maniacal and pathological vampires trying to kill and eat us at the same time), we pay far too much attention to it, and let it rule us. BUT... Madam Gilbert here teaches us this golden rule: "Beat the shit out of numbness after you have reveled in it for 5 seconds or maybe a little more". I mean, when she is numb, she thinks, but then she wakes up and she starts fighting and keeps at it. So, it doesn't win her over PLUS her

Elena Gilbert always survives. She always picks herself up, hides her pain (because she can't burden others with it naturally), and carries on. Even when she wants to fall down and drown in self pity (and she's entitled to that, tbh) she doesn't because she's a survivor. And she hates it. She always survives even when she's ready to - WANTS to - die. She always has to soldier on because she needs to be there for everyone else. She'll never get a break because she can't allow herself a break. She keeps fighting, always. /hasalotof~feelingsonthis.

SO TRUE!! makes me think you know, that in life dead or "undead" you're not thrown something unless you can handle it. I know, cliche of the year, and easier said than done... but still, it's the fact that SHE IS CAPABLE, and SHE CAN SURVIVE like no other... I think is why no matter the pain, the pity, the pressure the EVERYTHING... she fights back. Because that is WHO she is..it's not that if one is kind, soft, emotional not physically resembling or exuding Warrior Princess Xena, that they aren't strong or capable of showing strength. Strength you have or you can provide, or how strong you are is best shown in the moments where you need to have strength and express it in the best way possible. So in her case, although true, she has lost what we can never EVER think possible... and it hurts like a stinging bitch, but she can and she is doing.. she is not falling back, and even

Elena really fulfills that when the fandom at large and JP aren’t relegating her to the role of vagina that a Salvatore “deserves” and hating her for not fucking the Salvatore of their choice.
It feels to me like some of Elena's finest moments come when she's not around Damon or Stefan. This season especially when she was brought back to her humanity by Caroline and resolved to protect April (albeit in a dubious way) rather than eat her and again with Bonnie when Elena realized that she was enjoying herself too much and not worrying about the people she was hurting and not wanting to be that kind of person. Again when Elena attacked Connor and then snapped and killed him when he proclaimed her the biggest monster Jeremy will ever face. When she's taking on Katherine (blood for information), sacrificing her life for her friends (the deal with Elijah), and training how to kill vampires (with Alaric) - those moments are incredible. And then it's like the show realizes she's been without Damon or Stefan for too long and ropes her back in and things go to hell. :/ Of course, this is all subjective, so YMMV.

She’s compassionate and is able to relate to ANYBODY and thus find (and potentially exploit) their weakness.
ESPECIALLY this. One of my absolute favourite things about her is her ability to use her empathy for morally dubious reasons ♥
Ugh that quote always gives me feelings.

Also I want your opinion on this:

Do you mean in the writing on the show as well?
