It's a disability to (mostly) notice only another person's disability. This worker wasn't trained very well, in my opinion. Check out the "Weird Glasses People" video on YouTube.

I completely agree that the amazing blind person attitude will likely not be eradicated. Sadly, there are blind people who perpetuate it because it gets them various kinds of attention--not just pity but it gets some of them worshiped as heros because they might be the first blind person to accomplish something in a particular area. Some of them even get into working in the blindness field, and that is truly pathetic. When working in that field, it is so important for people to remember that their clients will have varying abilities--some will be very capable and some will have various other disabilities that interfere with their abilities. Their other problems have nothing to do with blindness, and it is very wrong to make comments like this. But I've heard comments like this even come out of the mouths of blind people. :(
