Every so often I peek in here, and have been dismayed to find out that the community wasn't doing so well. When I saw a call for more posts from women, I figured what the heck -- I have a spare account, and don't have my lover's permission to out him as a turtlecock, but then no one reads this version of my journal anyway ( Read more... )

Ok that made me hard...

Anyway, I think the lack of posts is due to some of us 'average' guys feeling a bit 'unaverage'...

I guess it makes sense. For instance, if 60% of America is obese but you rarely see serious characters portrayed in the media who aren't rail thin, you're going to feel like a freak even if people shaped like you are in the majority.

I suppose it's the same way for cock size. Between porn films and underwear ads, it's implied that the average male has a big dick. Since men generally aren't encouraged to show off or take a good look around restrooms and locker rooms (at least, from what I've been made aware :), what reinforcement is there?

Have you seen a French film called Romance that stirred up so much censorship controvery a few years ago? It's totally het, but feels like one of those Derek-like tries to get explicit porn into the mainstream. In an early scene, the protagonist is curled up with her lover, and she pushes aside the blankets/his underwear and starts playing with his cock and going down on him. She says something like, "I like it small, it's like a little bird in my hand" before he shoves her away. She's ( ... )

Good Vibrations' Sexuality Library catalog introduced me to that term. They've got two examples of it that I could find easily on their site: a movie called 3 a.m. and a book called Noirotica.

Well thank you for your insight. It is great to hear other's oppinions and take on the whole "average" situation.

I find it interesting that the majority of men are less than 6"...and over 60% of the population is obese. Yet judging by the posts in LJ-Communities...one might think all guys are rail thin with six-packs and 9" dongs...

This realm of LJ is one place where the roles are reversed. I have seen women of all shapes and sizes post in various communities and get much praise...meanwhile when an average man or even less than average guy posts...he is virtually (if not all together) ignored.

As I have said before...if women out number men (according to recent census) and the human population continues to grow...well the figure could only work out that theire are some women who are happy with the average guy...

Anyway...I know it goes deeper than math equations...but the facts are rather evident overall...

Perhaps one day it would make a fantastic socialogical study.

Again, thanks for posting

Hrm. I tend to think that the better composed and more artistic a shot is, the more likely someone "average" is to get attention than if they just do something haphazardly. The photos I'm more likely to think about are those that seem to have some thought put into them, rather than just random shots. I can't speak for every voyeur out there, but that's my take on it.

It never occurs to me to comment on a photo by someone who is conventionally attractive but who has basically just done a wanker shot (male or female). I mean, I can see that anywhere. Artistic nudes that also arouse are definitely at the top of my list, especially when the person posing is someone "average" and thus who I'm more likely to see nude closeup anyway.

And you're welcome. :)
