Paganism had a celebration on the 25th before Christians did! The 25th is celebrated widely so to accomodate all faiths etc etc.

God is dead, as that philosopher who I can't spell because I am a little drunk said. No one actually believes in Him, they just celebrate the presents.

Oh yes, I know about Christian origins - I believed in it all, but now I'm not so sure! Especially after going to Church on Christmas and feeling absolutely nothing.

In general, nobody believes in God or Religion anymore. It's true. Companies don't care about the beliefs - all they care about is making money out of it. People who do not even believe are celebrating Christmas - Christmas, Christian, Jesus Christ. It's become commercial - the real meaning isn't there anymore.

a) "i would also like to remind all the non-christians here how you wouldn't have Christmas if it wasn't for Jesus and if you don't believe in Him then what the hell are you celebrating!?!"
- I ask myself that every year.

b) "True the pagans or whoever it was would probably come up with another holiday but they didn't!" They did! Before the christians!

and c) "say happy birthday and/or thankyou to Jesus/God today cos i'm sure you know he loves you deep deep down !"

He wasn't born on christmas day! Think about it... lambs and shepards working... in mid winter? please!

Honestly!

*End Rant*

a) if you dont know what youre celebrating, it probably doesnt matter so you may as well enjoy the good cheer!

b) sorry-i stand corrected but these days people tend to celebrate the birth of Jesus whether they believe it or not!

c) doesnt matter when exactly He was born, the whole nativity thing happened over quite a long period of time but the world doesnt seem able afford to have that long for public holidays!

*End =p*

Just to be the thorn amongst the roses....

'sorry-i stand corrected but these days people tend to celebrate the birth of Jesus whether they believe it or not!'

Who said they were celebrating jesus's bday? Lets think about this logically is there any point in celebrating sumones life who died 2000 yrs ago, if you arent christian? Yes he was a great man and was completly influential, but so was Gandhi, The buddhi and countless other people, so why dont we celebrate their birthdays. Christmas is not really christmas for non-christmas, it is as josh pointed out too me just a cultural thing for people to celebrate family n such like n have a good old knees up and why the hell not?!
Christmas will stay since it is the only one of our holidays that links us to family stuff and it just happens to be a few days after the winter equinox (oh what a concidnece...)
