The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. You really set the mood of the story with the smell of pancake, sunshine and the sound of bird singing.
Then it continues to have just the right amount of beauty. Of course, words choice will develop as you write more and more. But as for now, each word is chosen with care. There's a rhythm and some memorable line as well.
And the twist. Oh the twist. It turned the light warm tone of the story into a cold dark cruel grey.
This fic needs a little polish. But for a start, it's splendid.
