So I was reading the every lovely moonbyrd's journal, and I came across a reference to a song which I happen to know. The song is about Charlie, a man who got on the MTA but didn't have the money to get off again, and so stayed on forever. The Lyrics are as follows (cut for your conveniance):

we all took turns doing xmas eve, which basically was johnny or me, although i tended to get stuck doing it 2 to 1 because jan hated it. also, it wasn't joe who broke out the freaky puppet it was johnny and your father always thought he had alternative motives. and they waited to ask joe to sing the song till later in the evening so that he had had enough to drink and wouldn't say no. but yes i too miss those times and grandma tighe making them all behave like human beings.

You're right! It was Johnny. I had mixed up the memory. I couldn't remember about Christmas Eve, if we took turns or it was at Grandmas. I knew Christmas Day was. LOL, I'm glad you waited til he was drunk.
