“What was the reason why he got admitted here?” Koyuki confusedly asked.

Junno fixed his glasses as he started “Massive osteolysis, that patient I was talking about previous days because we need you to have a
great part for his operation,”

Koyuki’s heart halted for a moment, but then she showed no emotion to her face “When this operation scheduled?”

“In fact, next month may do, actually the set of the doctors from the other countries already arrived, everything was ready, we’re just waiting for you. But also we need to inform the patient first,” he told as the woman walked near the window.
She clasp the curtain then slightly turned back “The preparations got too fast Junnosuke, it goes to be rushed, are we running out of time?”

“His skull almost lost the 20% of its surface and that was quite alarming, he may began to experience dizziness and lost of sight and when it rise up to 30 to 50 percent of lost on the surface….many worse thing he would experience,”

Koyuki glide away with her trembling hands the curtain blocking the wonderful sunrise had come. She opened the sheet of glass to breathe the cold relaxing air of the morning; she wished her senses to feel any pain get harden and rather have to be numb and dead. As her mind was dancing with the wind and strolling on the blinding sunlight as her affliction got even heavier than she expected.
Junno grasp the air through his lungs, she looks unusual; her soul seems soaring and Koyuki’s eyes… like a nimbus cloud that would shower rain anytime. It’s very hard to talk with a person in this condition. too hard. Particularly you didn’t know what does make her to agonize like this.
Koyuki’s now with her son here… in same place, so why she needs to wear that expression anyway?

He went got tired of thinking so he mind to ask the woman “What’s bothering you?”

“Him… I want to see my son now… I’ve missed him… so much,” her gentle tone came after she arranged the strip of ribbons.

The tall man set his feet off closer to the woman “Don’t worry he’s getting along well with his friend,”

“friend ?”  The woman’s eyes got pointed as she heard it clearly. Kazuya rarely get a friend out from patients. Maybe that patient wanted to get close to her son and later on deceive him, she can’t trust any person for her only son.

“Tell me that patient who’s with my son,”

He tilted his gaze outside the window “Akanishi Jin…”

A knock from door suddenly came. Junno did the honor to twist the knob to greet a man who was catching his breath, hardly. It took him few moments before he construct his sentence.

“Your son… K-Koyuki-san…. Missing.” The tensely uttered every word he could.

Bewildered, Koyuki created paces from left to right and vice-versa, together the pen she was playing with her trembling hands which she couldn’t no longer identify if it’s due to fret or her raging to the security for not even noticing his son’s silhouette in every corner of Jutendo. She rapidly summoned all the security and even other staffs of other departments to rummage around for his son. But after all the efforts, they’ve found nothing.

“Calm down Koyuki-san…”

“Calm down? Damn it! How could I be if my son is missing…” the lady physician’s tears flowed freely, massaging her temples

“What if those memories would be back? … I’m afraid to lose the only one left on me,” she cried out as Junno took the older woman on his arms.

“Auntie…” He knew that she’s been talking about that car accident. Also him was alarmed, if Kazuya would recalled it, he’ll just hurt himself just like he did two years ago.

“I’ll find him,” she struggled to escape then stormed out.

“Let me carry you,”

“W-What? Ano…”

Jin grinned seeing Kazuya’s flushed cheeks.

The taller man carried him at his back then stride to reach the nearest bench. Jin’s musky scent once again bopped inside his nostrils gently, inviting his arms to wrap around his neck then hide his face. A ticklish sensation of Kazuya’s warm breath brushing on his neck that made Jin emit a smile while his heart pumped rapidly as he watched the dancing leaves slowing in motion, seemed time is beginning to stop… slowly stopping , the more he felt the younger’s skin closer and Kazuya’s arms are finely locked around. He didn’t longer mind the difficulties within.
Jin gently placed Kazuya under tree that shading a wooden bench. He unzipped his backpack to search for a bottle of water inside and offered it to Kazuya. He felt like being a father having his baby boy a walk in the park, but he didn’t care as long as he’s caring for Kazuya. The younger nodded then imbibe the bottle straight to his mouth to quench his thirst. After got satisfied, he gave back the bottle to Jin and the taller man got his time guzzled the remaining water.

“What?” Jin eyed Kazuya who wore his shocked expression.

He soon laughed as he realized Kazuya might think that they’ve done an indirect kiss. “Nah, every drop of water is important,” he tried to explain, hiding his laugh.

Kazuya strived to change the topic as well as the THING that he merely wondered “Uhm, where are we going?”

“I have pants and shirt here, change your clothes first, after, we’ll buy a new slippers for you,”

“But---“

“Just go.” He smiled, passing the clothes to Kazuya.

“Why are you doing this to me? How long did we’ve know each other? I’m not sure how deep was friendship we have are...yet I feel too comfortable.” Kazuya noted on his mind as he gazed on Jin’s black shinning orbs.

After changing clothes, the two men entwined their fingers as they made their way. It was his happiest day though he’s not sure if it’s a date with Jin or what. Kazuya didn’t quite care how silly he smiled as he gazed upon every stall they have passed by. The crowd gathered wearing their Kimono for the celebration of Aizen festival. Even on the midst of afternoon, many people started to prepare for the peak of the celebration on night.

“Konnichiwa,” and older man about fifty-five on wheel chair bowed his head as the two men came to stop over at his stall of slippers.

“I think the slippers you will buy is for you isn’t?” he pointed out Kazuya.

Jin nodded “he forgot his slippers before we headed here,”

The man folded his arms then strokes his beard “it seems you…” he eyed Jin.

“Flee this young innocent child away to his parents and decide to live here for good… I don’t know why young couples these days are taking a risk of living independently without any source of income,” the old man showed his frustration, scolding the said couple.

“We’re not couples,” Jin clarified.

Kazuya nodded shyly and blushing “Yeah sorry but we’re not,”

“Oh I thought you were,” the man brought back his smile, embarrassed for bombarding the two youths with non-sense words.

“Come in, I have many designs to choose from, every unique design have been carved in one pair of slippers so you will be certain that only you had that design,”

He aided the two to choose slippers they’ll buy. After many moments of looking any several of designs, Kazuya’s smile is unfading as he stared upon his newly buy slippers. It was a green turtle-inspired design that perfectly fitted to his feet while Jin can’t evade shifting his sight on him, his smiles ponder as usual, but Jin felt too much happiness as if he saw him smiling for the first time.

“Those slippers are especially made with another pair. The maker made two pairs of slippers with the turtle inspired-design exclusive for himself and for his wife then they promised to other to wear those slippers together,” he began to tell a story then he got an old box.

:*:*:*:*:*

Kazuya’s smile went bigger than usual as they’re making paces together with the same slippers. He insisted the taller to wear the slippers. They’ve walked into streets. Still entwining their fingers into every street. They went to the Shoman-in temple in the Tennoji area and recited some sort of their personal prayers.

“What have you prayed for?” Jin asked the younger after exited the temple.

He looked upon the light blue skies “I prayed for more smiles next morning,”

“How about you?”

“I wished that the dice of our lives would have good things on top when it rolled again,” Jin bended down to gazed at their slippers with smile flickering on his face.

“Come on, let’s go to that shop,” Jin pointed a novelty shop near the temple “I need to give what I’ve promised to Karin-chan,”

“Karin-chan? Who is she?”

Jin beamed and grabbed Kazuya’s hand kindly “It’s her birthday the last time we meet her so I want to buy her a present,”
Jin felt nothing but happiness. This would his best day ever. With Kazuya. It should be tiring, but seeing Kazuya next to him. He didn’t mind to walk anywhere he wants, like forever.

Forever.  A single world could make his heart rise? Jin could only chuckle on himself. His emotions were turning into a thin-skinned these days. He wasn’t his first love, yet Kazuya never let him forget of how falling could be so warm that any firm would distort, any every rough could be delicate. No matter how it was tested by anyone or anything, a heart that was blemished can love again.

“Papa will be so happy about this.” He warmly smiled, squeezing Jin’s hand “You should meet him when he comes back.”
They chose the pink notebook as a gift for Karin-chan. It was suggested by the younger- though he didn’t had much information about the little girl was talking about, he knows that every girl loves pink. Jin agreed, he knew that Karin will appreciate it. After paying the item, they went
outside and Kazuya sighted familiar figure looking for someone.

“Mama!”

Kazuya gladly waved his hand in the air. He strived to escape from Jin’s hold then after achieved success, he suddenly dashed away.

“Kazuya! Wait!”  Jin followed the younger pressing himself in the crowd. Then the loud music started to disturbed his concentration. He lost
Kazuya. He will never find the other easily. But he didn’t stop to run, until he heard him, and he went after Kazuya’s voice.
His heart skipped from beating as he saw a woman with Kazuya on her arms. His ability to move seems blown away with the humid wind. As he witness the way Kazuya embraced her, Jin sense that she held a big part in Kazuya’s life. He got spun again through the pictures of reminiscences playing like a panorama. All he could see was her face, her smile… and all about her. He supposed that he forgot those… but he felt he was betrayed by himself. Still the wounds were not yet healed, it just lingered then he merely realized that wounds were ones made him to gather shattered past that kept haunting him.

The humid afternoon turned more blistering as the turmoil between the two began to rise up. How Jin and Koyuki filled their orbs with questions. Wondering only they could tell. The woman held his son closer as if someone will steal him from her, and there he was, Jin who eyed her with his shimmering puzzled orbs.

In a fleeted motion, he erased the distance and took Kazuya away from her right away after his body finally cooperated with him. The woman’s tears started to bursts. The situation is getting difficult.  Kazuya can’t even absorb on what’s between his mother and Jin. Jin…. Why Jin took him away to his mama?

“If you wanted to take vengeance… I’m here Jin… just don’t involve him here,” she cried dreadfully.

Jin grasped air on his lungs. His eyes gradually getting heavy but he remained firm, and then he filled Kazuya’s spaces between fingers. He faced the younger and fixed his eyes on him “I’m not doing this to take any revenge Koyuki.. You don’t have the right to judge me.. you don’t know nothing,”

And Jin’s world abruptly coated with darkness.

******
He fluttered his eyes to open...it seemed like a place with nothing but light, too much light... too much that it’s painfully blinding him--- was he already dead?

He often heard about what heaven looks like, lavishly painted with an endless light... is this it? is he in that place for real?
they will close their weary eyes, forever and live in a peaceful place where every man dreamt of. A place where everybody can be happy, no
limitations or restrictions.

It’s a happy place where we can leave with no sufferings at all.

“Based on the results, you’re diagnosed of having Massive osteolysis,”
“There’s no such specific cure for this”

Jin could just laugh on his thoughts, hurtfully. He’d fully trust his life to somebody though knowing that the change of surviving was slim. He just made them work for nothing, made his family and friends cheer him up for he’ll be done soon… I guess it’s done…

I’m already done.

“Jin! Jin!”

A voice… familiar one…

Hearing a voice of his mom in this place?

Jin haven’t read or heard about that you could hear a voice of one of your love one when you died.

Thank you for letting me to listen to my mom’s voice for the last time Lord, Arigato…

“Wake up! Don’t you ever die Aniki!”

Reio?

What do you mean?

Jin had felt warm smooth hands on his right cheek, he can still feel? But a dead can’t feel anymore right? “I’d hurt you so much and until now I’m still regretting that time Jin…Do your best and come back to me please…” it was the first and last words he heard clearly from that gentle feminine voice as everything around him was shuttering, clouding once again.
He knew that person very well, he could forget his own name but he truly knew to his heart not that voice “Koyuki…”
