I'm not a big fan of modern art. I recall my first visit to Manhattan years ago, and I went to the Museum of Modern Art. I was bored and unimpressed by the work that was there. A lot of it looked like something that anyone could've done. Like I could take a bunch of pieces of tin foil, throw them into a glass bowl or something, and that could be art.

I'm more into old art. Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism (my favorite), Post-Impressionism, etc. I somewhat like Cubism (e.g. Pablo Picasso), but that's pushing it a little.

even though i complain a lot about modern art (to myself, that is) when i visit contemprary art museums (especially when i see those canvases completely covered by blue paint or black or what have you -- but this is probably because i don't have an art theory education. and yet i think i'd be impatient with this sort of art anyway) i find that i like visiting modern art museums most, because oftentimes that is when i see the most interesting art
