a moment observed:i was waiting for an employee to assist me with something. nearby in the aisles at my local grocery, standing around, 3 university-aged females {certainly not deserving the word 'women'} made several snotty comments + laughed at another shopper {who, blessedly, either did not hear or paid them no notice + kept walking}. still ( Read more... )

yay! it's so good to read your post and see that things are happening in the small and good ways for you. mean people do suck, but knowing that there are also the good and courageous people who call them on it is a silver lining. not quite the same, but a few weeks ago i was walking back from counseling and teary-eyed and as i passed a woman crossing the street, she looked me in the eye and said something like "it'll be okay" in a way that was just very human-to-human. there are people who will reach out in ways that i think i'd be too scared to do.

and yay for baths! i'd forgotten how awesome they are until i took one for the first time in a few years. the bit where they're relaxing? it's true!

I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee. But I don't like coffee. I'm weird.

Yay for the random shopper who told those girls off! It's nice that, amidst all the meanness in the world, there exist those who are genuinely good and will stand up for others.
