The palestinians do not present enough of a conventional threat to draw anything but moral support from the U.S. towards Israel.
The UK aside, western europe and Japan and Canada have show no previous desire to enbrogle themselves in Israeli-Arab conflicts. EU, NATO and UN actions would be blocked by France and Germnay, who, for thier own reasons, would be strongly against taking any action.
Iran would not involve itself, particularly in a military manner. The last thing Iran needs is an illegite war drawing attention and ill opinion on itself before it attains functional nuclear capacity. (which, btw, will not be until late 2008, by the most conservative estimate).
I could go on. But just know that the scenario has no bearing on reality. Anyone who said the token "I'm really scared now" line afterwards was a bit of a tool.
