 Here's a quick one:

How many people you know, including yourself, turned out the way their parents wanted them to?  A lot of parents tell their kids they're proud of them, but I'm betting it's a small percentage that fit well into the 'ideal' kid their parents hoped for.

I always assumed the first person to say, "Be careful what you wish for," was a parent. And let's not forget, Frankenstein was thought up by a pregnant woman.
